They are pushed down by a drum that moves back and forth inside the machine. The third kind of feed mechanism is the indirect feed system where a wire strip is passed through the machine along with the welding electrodes.

The main parts of the machine are the control unit, the charger and the power source. All these parts work together to regulate the working of the machine as well as to give it power. A battery automatic spot welding machine needs to be charged regularly and this can take place either by the user manually or by the use of a dedicated charger. Similarly, a power source needs to be attached to the machine so that it can be powered on. In case of a handheld machine, the battery powered machine will be able to work even without a power source.
